Connect & Thrive Campaign
In the years ahead, social bonds will become increasingly important as our new digital and political realities separate us from others. We envision a future in which powerful theatre staged at MRT convenes a vibrant community that feels deeply connected to one another, celebrates diversity of thought and identity, and encourages empathy and human interconnectedness.
MRT’s Connect & Thrive Campaign is an investment in the infrastructure that allows us to serve our region. It is not a campaign for a new building. That’s not the kind of “building” we need. Ours is a campaign for building community.
Pillars of the Campaign
To Ensure Artistic Excellence
An investment of $1,005,334 will:
- Bolster the artistic community and resources with programs like the Sokhary Chau Playwriting Fellowship.
- Allow flexibility to select shows that need more investment, including larger casts and new musicals to expand our circle of artists and invite first time theatre goers to MRT.
- Make critical updates to artist and artisan spaces.
To Expand Our Reach
An investment of $1,325,333 will:
- Create two new marketing roles to support growth.
- Allow for implementation of new technologies and systems to better serve our patrons.
- Grow our endowment funds to support long-term theatre operations.
To Enhance Our Theatre
An investment of $971,833 will:
- Refresh Liberty Hall with cosmetic improvements, including painting and carpeting.
- Update our lighting grid for better safety and design features.
- Improve our accessibility offerings to include an automated ADA door.
