Director of Development

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) seeks a Director of Development to join our team. Located in Lowell, MA and dedicated to new works, MRT produces a season of seven plays from September through May. MRT is also committed to education and community engagement. The Director of Development is responsible for $1.5 million in contributed income. She/he/they creates and executes a comprehensive development strategy including individual and Trustee giving, foundation relations, government funding, and corporate support. The director works closely with the executive director and artistic director, and is a member of the senior staff. S/he/they serves as a key point of contact for Trustees, major donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation partners. The ideal candidate will highly motivated with front-line fundraising experience and a track record of creating successful development programs. Grant Writer (Part-time)

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT), located in Lowell, Ma and serving the Greater Merrimack Valley, seeks a part-time Grant Writer (10-15 hours per week) to join our team. With an annual budget of $2.8 million, MRT has achieved national acclaim for producing new works. Since 2015, MRT has produced 11 award-winning world premieres to critical acclaim.

The Grant Writer will pursue various foundation funding opportunities for the organization including proposal preparation and submission, complying with reporting requirements, and implementing appropriate stewardship efforts. She/he/they will work strategically and creatively with the Executive Director and Director of Development to raise funds for MRT. Ideal candidate will have a record of successful fundraising from both government and foundation sources.

Qualifications include: 5+ years grant writing experience in non-profit sector; theatre/arts experience preferred; bachelor's degree; ability to work independently while partnering with across departments; excellent written and oral communication skills.

Hours: 10-15 hours per week

Salary: $30-40/hour
